Spring Simmer Pot Recipe

Spring has sprung! 

While Mother Nature is still moody and quite chilly here in Ohio, the thought of warmer days are on everyone's minds. And it's hard not to daydream when the daffodils are blooming, trees are budding and the birds are once again blessing us with their cheerful songs. This year, I welcomed Spring into my home with the scrumptious aroma of a simmer pot. 

Disclaimer: as this blog begins to fill out with posts, you will notice that I am obsessed with simmer pots! As a kitchen witch and a chef, I find that they are an easy and practical way to bring magic into my home. Plus they smell divine and easy to personalize.

Spring is the time of fertility, rebirth and renewal and I wanted that to reflect in a colorful simmer pot that combined fresh, fruity aromas with the earthiness of herbs. And, of course, everything was chosen with protection, prosperity and peace in mind. While I don't include quantities for most of the ingredients, the number most associated with Spring is 3, so I chose to use 3 citrus fruits, 3 strawberries and 12 (1+2=3) blueberries. Do with this info what you will ;-)

What the ingredients mean:

• Rosemary-improving anxiety and depression, protection, healing, memory booster. Helps amplify the properties of the herbs surrounding it
• Spearmint-healing, love, protection, success, transformation, money, prosperity
• Bay leaf-protection, strength, inspiration, creativity, victory. Helps in the manifesting of your intentions
• *Cinnamon stick-protection, draw money to you, healing, stimulating psychic powers
• Blueberry-protection and luck
• Strawberry-dedication, strength, fertility, luck
• *Vanilla-personal empowerment, luck, improving the mind and psychic powers
• Whiskey-added as a gift to the goddess; also helps promote change
• Tobacco-added as a gift to the goddess; also helps banish negativity and aids against your enemies

*Cinnamon and vanilla are powerful tools in spellwork and are often used together for abundance, success and love

New Year's Day Simmer Pot Recipe

I hope this day finds all of you well and not suffering from too many detrimental effects from last night's celebrations. I spent my afternoon and evening hours at work and then enjoyed a quiet evening with a friend, so I woke up fairly early this morning and have been actively working to tidy the home and do some online work today. One of the many things I tackled was to craft a simmer pot recipe to bring luck and prosperity into my home for 2024. One of the beautiful things about being a kitchen witch is that I have so many ingredients on hand and creating this recipe was a simple lesson in allowing myself to embrace and follow my intuition. The resulting simmer pot smelled simply divine as it charged my home with its positive power. Here is the recipe if you want to try something similar in your home. You don't have to limit it to just New Year's, use it any time you would like a more positive energy flow in your home.
